I'm new here so forgive if this has been asked before
I picked up some rumors that KLM is investegating the start of services to Rio de Janeiro, Karachi and Buenos Aires, with at least one of those destinations to start in the next winter season. Is this true?
It also looks like flight KL 695 won't be operated in the next winter schedule. As of now it only shows a daily full pax flight.
AirBridge Cargo delays transpolar American service to second half '08.
Russian freight carrier Volga-Dnepr Group’s scheduled division AirBridge Cargo expects to open its planned transpolar services to North America in the second half of this year.
It plans to fly from Krasnoyarsk in Russia on a transpolar service to Toronto before operating to Houston and returning to Russia via one of its main European stations – either Amsterdam or Frankfurt.
The carrier is to use Boeing 747-400ERF aircraft to operate the route; it has two in its fleet and will take delivery of a third next week. “It’s the only aircraft which could do this cross-polar route with no hit on payload,” says Ilyin.
He says the airline will begin the twice-weekly service, increasing to thrice-weekly, in the second half of 2008. Ilyin adds: “We’ve kept the -400ERF running on regional routes to get used to it before we take it transpolar.”

KLM has announced plans for the following additional schedule changes Winter 2008/2009:
- SVO new 3rd daily B737 service dep. 20.40 KL907, return 07.30 KL908
- LED new 4th weekly B737 frequency
- ARN increase to 6x daily up by 5x/week Fokker 70
- TIP now 5x/weekly B737
Interesting thing I read here. What do those slots mean.
I read somewhere that 60 slots is 1 flight a week, but now I read 44 slots for some airlines and 88 for some of them.
Is there any explenation for this ???
