hello all!

heard on HF SPIDER 55 with WAR PATH. Who has any idea about what"s that??? Also heard SPARKLE, GRIFFIN, WIZARD, PLAYER, TRAIT. Worked with Keep Peace, Spider Ops, Sentry ops, Hip Track, Hell Storm, War Path, War Hawk. Supposed to be ground stations while mentioned above are a/c.

Will appreciate your help in recognizing mentioned c/s.

Could you please tell on Which HF freq you heard this?

I assume 07630.0? as WARPATH is a USN c/s for a Tactical Support Centre

Sentry Ops most logical would be Ops for E-3 unit

Actually, how could it be - WIZARD - for 116 E-8C and for 552 E-3C? So - one c/s for two different types of units (a/cs)?

Happens all the time, there are numerous untis for instance using c/s TIGER.

yeap, but for such specific ones they could be permanent, even more - why e-8 - just WIZARD while e-3 - WIZARD with @ALFA@ attached?

You confirm you heard them all on 07630.0?

I believe this freq was used during Second Gulf war as sort of a FAC freq.
Therefore I assume you've heard some action in the Gulf region with a lot of players.
WARPATH is a USN callsign and I believe groundstation is in Gulf Area (like "Rockbottom" is Sigonella)

Anyway interesting Stuff!

True, I believe they called them on this freq that they were needed so FAC is indeed not a correct word.

The HF "FAC" was i believe AUTOCAT transmitted by an AWACS to all players including the ground HQ and ASOC in charge of air assets conducting the CAS.
4739 as well as 7630 were both used for this with several hours of FAC on 4739 (another USN freq) of which i monitored back then during the war. Mention of F-18s and "Kill Boxes" confirmed it was being used by the USN and for FAC.

WIZARD is indeed used by both the 552 ACW being the backend callsign of the E-3C Sentry (as well as Goliath, Bandsaw etc) and usually coincide with an alpha suffix (Alpha, Bravo, Delta) after the initial callsign.

It is also as mentioned the backend of the E-8C among other callsigns and seems to be a general "ACW" callsign.

As for WARHAWK, i have heard this callsign pop up on 11175 quite a few times, the latest was when they asked Sigonella where they were... Sigonella operator replied with "Andrews AFB" while Warhawk replied with they were over Germany at the time.

hm...actually i"m speaking abt WARHAWK as of ground station, not as a/c... So it seems to be somewhere in the Gulf area also...

Any suggestions??
