The Mriya at SPL ,and some more while we there anyway....

Post by Polecat »

Months ago we planned a visit to SPL with a group of five. This is an annual happening, we try to combine making pics at the airport with an attempt to kill the X-mas bonus in the Aviation Hobby Shop...
This year we were lucky to get the An-225 as an extra!

and disappearing into the low clouds...

Because we have to travel a couple of hours to get to SPL, while we are there anyway we usually spend a couple of hours near the active runway.
The weather was not the best but we managed to get some atmospheric shots..

MD-11's are notorious for the overwing condensation...
Image

Usually I only get the Finnair Embraers at Dussy..

Big American Birds taking off in style..

..and some Airbusses heading for the clouds.

Some airlines managed to add some colour to this very very grey day..

we were shooting pictures but definitely not the only ones shooting....

We had started the trip at SPL-east and ended it there as well....

a couple of Fokkers were parked at East, probably because of many cancelled flights between X-mas and newyear?
We were happy with the, as that allowed us to make some nightshots...

Despite the weather, hope you like'm

As far as I know this is still a A320 not an Embraer.

I think he means that he normally goes to Dusseldorf. Apparently the only regular Finnairs there are Embraers.
So what I THINK he is trying to say, is that he is glad to see an AY Airbus.

I, for one, would like to see more Embraer's.

Yep, great Fokker. Also like the Antonov sliding into the clouds.

My mistake.
Sorry.
Embraers are nice indeed, see them a lot here in Calgary.

Spent today editing the rest... again, I'm usually an annoying complainer when it comes to weather issues, but I must say thursday was a very nice day in hindsight... just a few last additions and that'll be it for 2007!

A "Jumbolino" as they call 'm in Germany, we simply say "Willie Wortel" :-)

Not cropped !!

A long Morrocan...

A Paddy in this weather, he's probably used to it..

and another one with a very nice "wet wing"...

Let me wish all of you a verry happy 2007 with loads of great pics!!
