Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Alpnach + Buochs 03-04-2008

Post by Wim »

On the fith day of our Switserland trip we woke up at Meiringen, but it was again raining. After asking the the security guy if he could photo to the tower to know if they were flying that day at Meiringen, we understood that all day long, no flying would take place at Meiringen. No problem, we went to Alpnach (45 minutes driving) There it was also very quiet. We saw a cougar and alouette III doing some enginetests. Also an alouette III took off, and then suddenly 3 cougars in formation came in for landing, very impressing sight. The last cougar landed just in front of us before the small spottershill at about 15m away from the runway!!! The cougar turned around his axis just in front of us, but due to too much downwind of the helicopter, we weren't able to make pictures  We had to cary ourselves to the metal bar of the spottershill, now I understand why they installed a metal bar over there

Around noon we descided to have a look at Buochs airfield, just at the other side of the mountain. We saw 2 testflights of one of the Singaporian Air Force PC-21's, one testflight of the PC-21 of the Pilatus company, some PC-12's that arrived and departed. So we saw some nice and special trafic. When the aircraft come from the factory, the have to cross a public road, so you can find situations where you don't find it elsewere in Europe  No fences at Buochs airfield, so very easy to make pictures.

Here are some pictures we took that day:
