Wittmund 04072008 - "Rhino" spec c/s Phantom

Post by zapata742 »

Hi gents,

yesterday I was able to shoot the first official public appereance of the newest special colored F-4 which the German Air Force has since many , many years.

After Neuburg two weeks ago, the Fighter Wing 71"Richthofen" has there own one, and its a really nice one.
You can see on the airframe a "Rhino", which looks really nice and was made out of more as 300 stencils and the whole design to finish took more as 4 weeks.
Even the belly is marked with the Wing insignia and the shows what the wing is celebrating - 50 yrs Phantom II & 35 yrs F-4F.
The primary color is midnight blue, its a stunning livery. And it looks phantastic from all different angles.
The airframe has only 96 flight hours left, and will be going as well on the US tour with the Fighter Wing 71.

All special colored F-4 will be on a static-display on July 30, 2008 @ Wittmund Airbase - Home of the mighty Phantoms.

Luckily I was able to capture the first official roll-out yesterday and a special thanks goes to all members of the Fighter Wing 71"Richthofen", which did a pahntastic job to fullfill my requests for the shooting.

Hope you enjoy the first impressions, as more will follow.....

Cheers,
Mick

Hello Phantom Phriends,
Just returned phrom a short hoilday in which this phabulous design got exposed to the world. Great aint it!! I like the other side too ( and more) with the golden 50th Anniversary. By the way the designers much have chosen phor the operational units that flew or still fly the rhino. Where is WTD-61? As i told you bephore I saw the making of and indeed what a work using those special stickers. I myself have one at home size 50 cm. Just a small one.

No keep it as it is. Less is more.

Sharkmouths are soooo 2007 :?
