Duxforf Flying Legends 2008

Post by dolfo »

Did not find any topics open, so I am starting this one. Feel free to move or remove if appropriate.

So I went all the way from Taiwan to England for the RIAT this year. And, as all know already, this year was the first cancellation in 38 editions of the show. Lucky me. Or is it?

Duxford Flying Legends just happened to be on the very same weekend.

Friday and Saturday were quite cloudy and rainy, but Sunday promises us better weather.

Excellent shots, especially love the last one, but what is that with the prop, 2 blades so close together?

Six blade counter-rotating prop spitty. A rare bird.

Happy you like the photos!

Just returned from Duxford.

Some superb shots!
The show yesterday was one of the best legends I have seen.
very low, very fast and aggressive flying. The P-51's were stunning as well as the Norwegian DC3. Also B-17's gave nice demo which was bit lower and faster than Usual.

Luckily all went well with the Sea Hurricane on Saturday morning. His landing gear did not fully extend at first.

Thank you all for the kind words.

This was my first Flying Legends, and although frustrated for missing the RIAT I was very happy with the Duxford display.

Still have a bunch of photos to go through, plus monday's Farnborough pics. Will take me some time until I make them available.
