protection for Canon lcd

Post by heatseaker »

A friend of mine just bought an Canon 40D and wondered if there were more possiblities to protect the lcd on his camera, other than the foil that was on it on delivery.

I suggested that i would ask the Canon pro's on this forum :D

thanx in advance

Hey Heatseaker,

Several companies are selling stronger plastic foil to stick on the LCD screen, but you can also get real glass prefabs to stick on the LCD screen.

Another option might be a "LCD Shade"

This small kit is placed over the LCD and totally protects it. When opened the lid transforms in some sort of anti glare view-box with side panels.

The two options above are available for between $30 - $40 in the States. I don't know of any other different protection options, but I'm open for suggestions.

Cheers,
Iwan

I use 3M Vikuiti CV8 Display foil on both Cam and Phone. This is a thick, crystalclear foil which is easy to apply and without bubbles. It's a cheap but very usefull solution. I gives a good protection, and if it's scratched, just peel of the foil and apply a new one. Just search at http://www.ebay.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and you will find tons of these. They are pre-cut for various types of Cams, phones, pda's etc.

Hope this helps ;)

Hama produces glass-protection for the 40D, which you can buy through e.g. Amazon.
