@ Emmer:
You are right, it is an F-15E strike Eagle. It is based at Lakenheath in the UK.

Hi Emmer,

Yes it's from RAF Lakenheath.
Lakenheath flies 2 F-15E Strike Eagle squadrons:
492 FS: these aircraft have a blue tail fin
494FS: these aircraft have a red tailfin like the one you saw at Spangdahlem.

493 FS flies the F-15C/D Eagle and is also based at Lakenheath. There a quite some Eagles over there.

Hi,

I've been to Spangdahlem too, but had to leave around 12.
Did the F-16 and the A-10 perform a full demo or just take-off, fly-by and landing?
According the program there was also a C-17 fly-by planned. Did it come or was it cancelled?

Greetings

F-16 did take-off, one fly-by and landed.
A-10 the same but did one touch and go before his landing
There was no C-17 flying (or static). I will post some pics of that later today.

Could anyone explain what the object attached to some of the F-16's is? I've never seen it before (my bad).

See below (the red arrow) which object I mean.

TIA,
Marcel

PS: Flanker, I borrowed one of yours to point out what I mean, hope you don't mind ;-)

That's the AN/ASQ-213 HTS (HARM Targeting System). That system is able to detect, locate and identify ground-based radar emitters. The pilot then can use his HARM missiles (the big white "rockets" under the wing) to destroy those radar emitters.

Also before the CCIP mod (you can see that when the planes have MLU-style "birdslicers) the HTS pod was carried at the other side of the intake, so now it's able to carry both the HTS and Lantirn/Litening/Sniper-XR on both sides of the intake.
