[Long Shot] Prague 1994

Post by wamovements »

In May 1994 I have seen a dump in Prague with two L-29 and 1 Mig15 on it:
2601 L-29
9903 L-29
and
5157 MiG-15

Now I can not find the MiG-15 in any database. Did I read the serial wrong? Main question is if somebody can provide me the exact version and the constrcution number

Regards
Dennis

The exact location is: Auto Moto Bazaar Okaje, Prague

Can't help you with the MiG-15.....

All I know is that a lot of Czech MiG-15 are licence build by Aero as S.102 and S.103.
So myabe you have luck if you search this one as S.102 or S.103.

Best regards, Rob.

Hey Dennis,

I have been there on the 8th of august 1994 and saw 2 Mig-15's and the two Delphins you mentioned.

The two Mig-15's were: 1397 and 3922.

It doesn't look close to what you said but with all other info you might gain, it could narrow your search .

Hope this is of any help for you.

I visited this location 12th July 1993 and noted

1397 MiG-15bis
3794 MiG-15bis
3922 MiG-15bis
2601 L-29
9147 Mi-4 (now at The Helicopter Museum at Weston-Super-Mare, UK)

but also a MiG-15 on a pole or plinth I noted as E57, so I imagine this is the one referred to as 5157.

Also noted two further MiG-15s that I could not identify.

I describe the location as Praha - Holešovice and I think this is immediately south of the motorway that crosses the river near Holešovice railway station (south bank of the river).

In what is a very late answer to this  your "5157" was most likely to be 1397 as that was also noted wearing the faded old Czech serial S-57 [which is pretty close to 5157] c/n 231397

Next the motorway from Germany to Prague there was a garage with I think some preserved Su-7's.
Anyone who knows the name of the village and the serials?
