I tried out my new camera for the first time at a civil airport. here are the results, I am quite happy about some but I think some are too dark. I will edit it in the future when I have Photoshop and I have to try out the settings:

Thanks! :)
Yeh I know it is militairy as well, however I have been to Gilze-Rijen of a couple of times to try it out but militairy is not that interesting for me as civil aviation is. That is why I said civil airport :P Hahaha

Hallo Bas

Certainly no bad pictures to start with.

I do not think they are to dark, you have to consider the time of year, the sun is very low at the moment.

What is a problem is the point your camera has focussed on. The Wizz and one of the Ryanairs are sharp on the nose but distinctly out of focus on the tail.
Can you check what autofocus mode you camera is on?
I think it will be the same as my A200, press the Fn button, and select the autofocus mode, I have mine selected for Automatic AF.
The camera then choses between single shot (for non moving objects) and continuous for moving objects depending on the situation.
You can also try to select the Autofocus area to spot or local (but then the center sensor only) so the camera focusses in the middle.

What also helps is using an apperture (diafragma) of 8 or 11 because those are the best values for most lenses, meaning they are sharpest at those values
and also the area that is in focus is largest meaning the tail and nose will be in focus at the same time.
You can choose the apperture if you use the A setting.
With these apperture values under these winter conditions you have to make sure your shutterspeed does not get to low
(not under 1/250th and preferably higher) this increases the risk of motion unsharpness (bewogen), to compensate you can increase the ISO value to 200 or 400.
This will give an increase in noise (speckles and grainy appearence) in the picture but this can be reduced in postprocessing,
something that cannot be done with out of focus pictures.

Experiment and find the settings you like best.
