(sub)forum rules

Post by Thijs »

With the introduction of the new message board we also introduced this new subforum. Main reasons to create this subforum is the large amount of log's, news etcetera concerning this airbase. To make life easy some basic rules, in addition to the overall rules.

Topic title: as can be seen in other subforums, we have a standard which is: ICAO code, day, month, year (ICAO DD-MM-YYYY) for example ETAD 29-12-2008. So no request (REQ), or expected (EXP) in front of.

Photo's: pictures can be shown in the aviation photo forum, just like the old situation.

Do you see something which is not appropriate, like spamming, off topic message's etcetera please use the exclamation mark (!) at the right of each message. With this option you can directly send your complain to the moderator team.

Thanks for your cooperation, if you have any questions, remarks etcetera feel free to drop us a line, and most of all have fun!

Thijs

PS these particular forum rules will later on be shown in the forum rules bar at the top of this subforum.

Mode S / SBS and listening on-line to air traffic control could be of use to see what is going on at an airport. Still visual confirmation is needed in order to know if the above two sources are correct.

We allow Mode S and SBS logs, airfield specific, in this sub forum because of the following reasons:
- They are a good indication what is going on at an airport / airfield
- Mode S / SBS and radio logs could be visual confirmed by people in the field, in this way they translate into an actual arrival / departure
- Mode S / SBS and radio logs could be an actual heads up for people around the airfield.

As Mode S / SBS and radio logs are not 100% reliable, in other words, they need confirmation, it is obligated to mention your log / message is made with the help of Mode S / SBS or air traffic control conversations.

In short: Mode S / SBS and radio logs, airfield specific, are allowed, but always state your source, mode S / SBS or air traffic conversations. These logs can be placed in the "day topic" so a separate Mode S / SBS radio log is not necessary.

We will closely monitor if this new rule will be effective and efficient.
