On thursday 26th of March, the Belgian MoD has published the request for proposals for the public sale of its last twenty-three SA.318C Alouette II. The sale has been split-up in three equivalent packages, identified as Lot A, Lot B and Lot C. Lot A consists of eight (8) helicopters, Lot B consists of eight (8) helicopters and Lot C consists of seven (7) helicopters (see herebelow). The tenders submission deadline is set on May 28th, 2009.
An anticipated withdrawal of service of the type is expected as the last three operational SA.318C Alouette II (A-61, A-64 & A-69) of the Wing Heli are included in the sale. True surprises as those three ships were just returned to active service after an in-depth inspection and were programmed to stay on strength with the Air Component until 2011.
Lot A: A-22, A-50, A-53, A-57, A-62, A-69, A-73, A-77
Lot B: A-40, A-44, A-47, A-55, A-64, A-66, A-78, A-79
Lot C: A-43, A-49, A-59, A-61, A-65, A-68, A-70
