(IsraelNN.com) Colombian ambassador to Israel Juan Hurtado Cano joined representatives of Israel’s air force and Defense Ministry for a ceremony today at Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI) to celebrate the transfer of Israeli-improved Kfir fighter jets to the Colombian air force. IAI won the $150 million tender in 2007 to add improvements to the jets over a number of years and supply additional jets.
Yitzhak Nissan, CEO of Israeli Aerospace Industries, said the "new technologies developed here over the last few years will allow the jet to have a loner service life and was made possible due to the experience, knowledge and integration of a devoted team of employees. " Colonel Diego Sepulveda Alzate of the Colombian air force said "we are happy, proud and feel immense satisfaction in light of the new addition to the Colombian Air Force. We thank the employees at the Lahav facility and all IAI employees for the contribution to the success of the project."
