Yep.... And that's exactly why they send out the Saab 105s - the Eurofighter consortium will be so chuffed to read their "best fighter in Europe" has not been used for a Quick Reaction Alert, but in stead a 40 year old armed trainer is used. bye
Well, I do recall I saw one Phantom beating two Typhoons in a dogfight (and reading an interview with a RAF Typhoon pilot stating the Eurofighter doesn't have a single chance if it has to fight a F-16).giogio_lawyer wrote:the EF-2000 Typhoon, the best fighter in Europe.
Going OT here I know, but I believe it’s still very much down to the pilot and knowledge of the aircraft involved. I remember in the early 80's Danish F-16 pilots getting quite frustrated by numerous losses to RAF Lightning’s during a squadron exchange. Also remember reading a few years back that German F-4s made life very difficult for F-15s during Red Flag (although not really dogfighting).aviodromefriend wrote:Well, I do recall I saw one Phantom beating two Typhoons in a dogfight (and reading an interview with a RAF Typhoon pilot stating the Eurofighter doesn't have a single chance if it has to fight a F-16).
