In the morning of 31 August 2009 an Army AB-206 crash-landed while attempting to make an emergency landing in Songkhla.
The two pilots and a mechanic suffered only minor injuries and could walk out of the helicopter after the crash.
The Bell 206 helicopter based in Pattani was flying on a bomb scanning operation in Hat Yai district when the accident occurred at 8:10 am.
The pilots found that the engine had a malfunction so they decided to make an emergency landing in a paddy field in Hat Yai. Witnesses said they saw the helicopter landed on one side with its head being the first part to hit the ground.
