Too bad that they didn't use something like CAMBUUR31 or HEERENVEEN31....

F16's returned back to Leeuwarden, it was only a trial mission.
All Bold Avenger missions will be flown twice a day from EHLW by the Dutch F16's.

Signorino,
As I understand, the exercise ends on the 25th. See quotation;
"Ramstein, Germany – From 14 to 25 September, in close support with the Host Nation Denmark, NATO will conduct its live flying exercise BAR09 at Karup Air Base in Denmark. More than 40 fast jets as well as transport and support aircraft from eleven NATO nations will fly air operations in a fictitious scenario under a UN mandate. Command and control will be provided by the Joint Force Air Component (JFAC) deployed to Karup from its home base Ramstein, Germany, and Combined Air Operations Centre 1 (CAOC1) at Finderup, Denmark".
Regards,
Charles

Karup is not very easily done from outside based on my own observations inside the base. The western end might give some approach options, but the other side is very difficult. It's a large base where the actual runway lies well within base perimeter. Just check Google Earth.
Maybe the civil terminal reveals some action but I doubt it.
If here are options from outside, please feel free to correct me

There are no possibilities from the civil terminal, the western approach gives some photo opportunities although the planes are a bit high for nice shots, the east side is a no go. Karup is the biggest are base in northern Europe, this does not help a lot…
I will post some on base shots later this week.
Grtz,
Marcel

Thanks guys!
I read about a spot at a gas-station (BP?), where approaches RWY09 can be caught; planes should be a little high however.
Anybody recon this spot please?
Thanks again.
