Just curiosity, but what's the purpose of using an fm-radio on a relative small airbase like Geilenkirchen only for ground services? Regularly all communications are am-based. Perhaps i'm mistaking but it seems that the signal is much stronger now, so it has a bigger range, but what for?
Besides I never knew that larger planes like sentries and tankers where equipped with fm-radios? Just thought that it only was a 'fighter thing'.
