Should be annual, according to a local Innsbruck spotter. This is the answer i got from, on the same question last year. After seeing photos from 2009 at Innsbruck does any one know if they regularly help provide cover please and is it likely that some aircraft will detach there again this time around.
Yes of course, the WEF 2009 wil be covered from Austria too. We expect coverage with helicopters (Basis at Landeck), with PC-7 and Saab 105 (Basis Innsbruck) and Eurofighters (Basis Zeltweg). Seems to be the same every year and the movements are depends on the visual weather conditions. Closer Infos are not possible at this moment.
Don't know which Swiss airbase is involved but just look for the Wiederholungskurcus (or something like that) at the official swiss air force website. I will check them tonight when at home. Already checked flugzeugforum by the way? they have a special Sion, Meiringen and Payerne thread.Yes, the will fly on the weekend too because they have to save the airspace at same times at the WEF works! But the question is more about the weather! Bad conditions could affect the movements oft the military planes much more than at other airports!
