Fightertown Wittmund - Home of the Phantoms
Wednesday I have been to Wittmund again, to visit some friends within the JG 71"R" and my main focus was to capture mighty Phantoms in snowy conditions, and we were succesfull - snow and blue a sky was what we found in Wittmund that day.
After more as 4 weeks at home and two surgerys, it was time for some entertainemt today, and what a great entertainment we got......
I have never seen so much snow in Wittmund and it was a great atmosphere, to see the base covered with so much snow. Because u never know when you will ever see so much snow again in Wittmund.
.....man that was freekin cold that day, but we got sun and plenty of mighty Phantoms - what do u need more?!
Yep, flying "Rhino´s" and we got plenty......
Luckily on the day I have been on base 3 rounds were flown with almost 21 Phantoms flying the whole day including the QRA, beside the A-4´s - so it was a succesfull day for us.
So my decision was good...driving down up to Wittmund in the morning and returning home afterwards, so we spent 6 hrs driving back and for and almost 650 km - but it was more as worth, and as result we could shoot plenty of mighty Phantoms under a blue sky by freezing temperatures outside!
But for a mighty Phantom it was easy for me to do that....especially when you are reward with a great sunrise, under a crispy sky and Phantoms deaparting into that sunrise
Ok enough for now, let tell the pictures the rest of the story...... hope you enjoy them, and comments & critiques are more as welcome.
More to come...stay tuned
Cheers
Mick
