EHAM 13-03-2010 >> help sought to improve

Post by Sky »

Hai all,

It's been almost 2 years for me since I've taken some pics. I think I need some help making better pics. I have a Canon EOS400D camera with a Canon 70-300 lens.
And I mean like tips with my camera. Not like in teh center or horizon level. Just the setting please! :)

All comment is welcome.

TIA.

First off all, what were the settings you used?

And which setting was the Auto Focus mode on?

Cause the settings seems to be in the right direction.

@EC: Nice hit and run

Lol, hi Sky!

Clearly you do not understand your camera. That is offcourse nothing to be ashamed off, but I suggest you dive a few hours into the theory of your camera (gebruiksaanwijzing)
If you do it for like 10 hours on a Sunday, you wil learn a lot. In one day!

Then you wil discover that automatic is not te way to go, focus mode has nothing to do with the answer you gave.

Furthermore, practice practice and patience...

There are a lot of topics about the basics in photography, even aviation photography.

Have fun!

Well, that's the thing. I moved to an other house and lost the box. I know, now so clever. When I read your post I was in a book shop. I bought a book about the Canon EOS 400D. So now on the couch "playing" with my camera!

Thanks for the help!

Your welcome, soon you will learn a lot from that book, but that is still theory.. Throw in another day of shooting your theory into practice and you will notice improvement... Do that 15 times more and see what happens! :-)

Sky this link would help I guess:

http://www.gebruikershandleiding.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The 400D manual is on it. And with Auto focus I wanted to know if you had the continuous mode on or off, AI Servo on a Canon I believe. This will keep the subject sharp will you press the shutterbutton half way down, the entire time you do that.

Cause from my view, the aircrafts weren't in focus at the time you pressed the button.

Can't you proceed this at the photography forum.. Instead of the phototopic forum?

It's possible but I don't have the means to divide the topic between the photos and tips. And second? Why would I. I know this is the photo forum, but comments can be placed here right. And third, my messages with help will end cause I think everything I told to Sky in order to push him in the right direction.

Right. :roll: Does the topic starter know off this movement, otherwise the help is all for nothing.

He does, if he reads his PMs.
