Hi all,
As you probably know, the Dutch Defence Helicopter Command will host the 2010 edition of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Days at Gilze-Rijen airbase on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th June 2010. On Thursday 17 June the Gilze-Rijen Aviation Society (GRAS) will organize a spotters day, to watch and photograph the arriving aircraft on base. Members of a regular Dutch spotting group (GRAS, SGV, AGL, EWAS, GEAS, Panoravia, SGMST, SGDK, SGHK and SGW) have already been invited earlier this week through their own club.
Registration is now open to aircraft spotters from outside the Netherlands. For them we have 75 places allocated and we will select them on a 'first come first served' basis. Costs for this spotters day will be 5 euro each (to be paid in cash that day) and will be donated to charity. Registration closes 31 May. Early June we will let you know whether you are in or not and send you further instructions on arrival and parking that day.
We would like to emphasis that the spotters day is only open for spotters and that's why we require Dutch members to be part of a spotting group. We would like to keep out all other 'interested' people and tourists as we are only allowed to host 400 people by the RNLAF. Also we would like to make clear to participants from outside The Netherlands not to bring mum and the kids! The places are limited so we only like to give the opportunity to spotters to participate. On the 18th and 19th mum and the kids are more than welcome to see the show.
Are you from outside The Netherlands and you would like to participate, please fill out the registration form on our website.
