Tornado F.3 ZE-728 heeft na te zijn verschroot een soort van tweede leven gekregen in de UK. De exacte locatie weet ik niet maar de klok hangt op Gateshead Quayside....

When you ring the bell it will kick in its afterburners!!

But Gateshead is in Newcastle upon Tyne if I am not mistaken!

Hi,

The RAF serial system does not use the - sign between the letters and ciphers.
So the seria should read: ZE728

yours friendly

if it comes down to the use of the English language in some messages here and elsewhere on this board, there's a lot more nitpicking to do.

However, I'm not into that. I am much more interested in the story behind this bell. Can anyone tell me whether this is simply a coincidence, or that ZE728 did really end up as a bell in Newcastle? Gives rise to a nasty dilemma in that case: if you go to Newcastle and you see this bell, does that qualify as a log of the Tornado?
