Public transport Stansted - London

In a few weeks I will make a daytrip to London. I will arrive at Stansted airport. There are several ways to travel to the citycentre of London (bus, train).

Can anyone tell me the best and cheapest (no, I am not going to walk ) way to make this trip ?

Hello Copter,

I have been travelling to London via Stansted quite often with Easy Jet. Via Easy Jet it is possible to book a train to and from London. It will cost you about 23 pound sterling I believe I paid last time. Anyway when booking via Easy Jet you will get a reduction of some pounds.

There are also several busses to the city, and even to other airports. There is no cheap option however, as public transport in UK is expensive and Stansted is still quite a distance from the city. The ´fast´ bus still takes about an hour to get there. I think I paid somewhere like 14 pound for a single busticket 2 years ago.
And don´t look to the fare only, London is big, so if you know where you want to go in London, it makes sense to find the bus/train connection that gets you to close to it.

I prefer the train to/from Stansted: Cheap day return £15.
