This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |
Do I sense some sarcasm over her ??ErwinS wrote:The Cub.

Indeed, I am tired of all those KLM shots.....Nothing special to be seen, but that's just me. Maybe we can transform this forum into a photogallery.....Aircolours wrote:Do I sense some sarcasm over her ??ErwinS wrote:The Cub.

If scramble will open a new specific Forum for "our" kind of photography, i will be more then willing to move over there, but there simply isn't any. Given this i think it's best to repsect each others way/style of photographing and work. If somebody doesn't want to see the pictures i have taken, then he or she is free to skip my part of the contribution. To be honest, i do the same with the average spotting pics, it's just not my cup of tea.....ErwinS wrote:There is nothing wrong with those pictures but for me Scramble represents a spotters community and spotters are interested in rare, old and or special aircraft. That's what I'm about anyhow.
These artistic shots of everyday visitors should be posted elsewhere imo.
If I look in a day topic of an airport I expect to see the rare and special visitors(the ones I missed:-P). The kind of aircraft for wich you would drive a long way just to catch her.
Anyway, since it's more appreciated by most members here that the arstic shots are all fantastic iso my Antonov 12 shot or whatever special visitor, there is no need for me anymore to post such shots.
I understand what you're saying.. it might look like it isn't important anymore.. but it still is, lots of members still apprectiate rather 'normal' pictures from Schiphol's movement.ErwinS wrote:Anyway, since it's more appreciated by most members here that the arstic shots are all fantastic iso my Antonov 12 shot or whatever special visitor, there is no need for me anymore to post such shots.
Hi Menno, wild weasel wrote:You have two kinds of aviation photography, knowing aviation photography and aviation photography. Both kinds of photography have equal rights.
Euh, sorry Bas, but i have to correct you on this one! But now i am speaking on behalf of myself, not the others. NustyR alias Martijn sure is a very good inspirator, i have allways admired his work, and still do. But i sure do NOT want to copy any of his work. Besides that, you're saying, it's all about having the right equipment, meaning to say, everybody can make pictures like that? Martijn is a hard working guy, taking the time and effort to get up early, drive to his working field and do what he does best, and yes, he's got the right equipment, but allso know's which location to pick and last but not least, which weather will give the best results.Boudewijn van Oirschot wrote:I understand what you're saying.. it might look like it isn't important anymore.. but it still is, lots of members still apprectiate rather 'normal' pictures from Schiphol's movement.ErwinS wrote:Anyway, since it's more appreciated by most members here that the arstic shots are all fantastic iso my Antonov 12 shot or whatever special visitor, there is no need for me anymore to post such shots.
Moreover, as discussed thousands of times before. There are now several planespotters/photographers trying to copy the photography behavior of NustyR. However, the difference between NustyR and the 'wanna Bes' is that NustyR has the right gear but most of all, the very sophisticated skills to do so and the others just try.
Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate ALL input and effort from everyone. In addition, there is some real good input and creativity. And certain photographers add a good flair to a picture as well.
To come back to my first sentence. Please continue posting all pictures! Even when it's just a easyJet landing at Schiphol.. always good to see how the weather actually was, as well how the photographer performed

I fully agree. And as this is the "Aviation Photo Forum", I think both types belong here.
Its like billiards and snooker. Both use ivory-like balls and a cue, and play on a quite smililar table, but they both play a different game. You may like one better than the other, but there is no reason to chase one of the two types away from the most popular cafe in the country.
That's the way I see it.....
Cheers,
Iwan
No of course he is not good. He is just a very good photographer, probably one of the best of this board. And I am also not stating that you are copy his photography behavior as I mentioned that there are also photographers with its own creativity.wild weasel wrote:Euh, sorry Bas, but i have to correct you on this one! But come on, he is not some kind of god...

About the equipment, of course it always depends on the fotographer. But I don't have a 500MM lens, so I cannot take some pictures he takes. And that counts for more spotters here. Otherwise, not meaning that it really matters.. at least not for me.
