US Air Force F-16 deliveries

A US Air Force press release states that on March 25th, 2005, the 2,231st and final F-16 was delivered to the US Air Force. Using my own records and crosschecking them with F-16.net, I come up with 2,240 delivered. That is including the YF-16 prototype and 8 FSD aircraft, excluding embargoed Pakistani aircraft:
- 269 Block 50/52
- 462 Block 40/42
- 469 Block 30/32
- 244 Block 25
- 457 Block 15
- 213 Block 10
- 73 Block 5
- 43 Block 1
- 8 FSD
- 2 YF-16

Any guesses ? Perhaps the press release refers to production airframes ? And even then, there is a (slight) mismatch.

Hi,

I come up with 2231 F-16's 'delivered' to the USAF:
785 F-16A/B
713 F-16C/D (incl. 1 NF-16D)
462 F-16CG/DG
271 F-16CJ/DJ

This number is excluding the 2 YF-16's and 8 F-16A/B FSD aircraft, but including aircraft that never made it into USAF service (1 was lost during pre-acceptance test flight, 1 was lost during delivery flight).

Interesting,

786 F-16A/B (instead of 785)
1.444 F-16C/D (instead of 1.446)
At least this explains the delta one.
