Czech CASAs operational
The Czech Air Force has declared its C-295Ms operational.

January 2: Four Airbus Military (CASA) C-295M transport aircraft with the Czech Air Force were declared operational on December 22 at a ceremony at 24 Air Transportation Base, Prague-Kbely.
In a statement released on April 16, 2009 it was announced that the Czech Ministry of Defence planned to acquire the aircraft as replacements for its ageing An-26 transport fleet.
The formal contract for was announced by Airbus Military on May 13, 2009 with delivery of the first example taking place on January 11, 2010.
The aircraft serve with 242 Transport & Special Squadron based at Kbely.
The commander at Prague-Kbely, Colonel Jiri Vavra, said the C-295Ms would serve for up to thirty years and will be used in ISAF missions in Afghanistan.
