Don't care about these posts, Alexander! I appreciate the time you took to upload your report

Why should he? As long he is happy with what he has seen? He is not looking for esteem, he just want to show us what passed by in front of this camera that day! I furthermore have to say that not everyone can afford a digital single lens camera or don't have the skills and eventually neither seek them at all!

If you have nothing honourable to say, please don't respond because I get totally fed up with those comments. It should be appreciated that people like him take time to upload their reports to Scramble. Taking the same challenges into consideration as on Dusforum and Luchtzak for instance, I am actually wondering how many people still want to upload reports to Scramble if all they get is miserable comments.

OK, comments could have been a little more subtile, but I do agree with them. If you post on a public forum, people will tell you how they feel about your pics. Better get used to it, or keep your pics for yourself.

IMHO every pic posted should have some added value for the people watching it:
- great picture
- very special aircraft
- news value

In most of the pics above I don't see any of those.

I haven't checked the exif for the type of camera that was used, but with any camera one should be able to shoot sharper then these (I know I did with my Olympus C720 back in the days). So the remark that not everybody can afford a DSLR is pointless. If these were posted to learn from others, post one and ask. If you post a bunch without asking questions, prepare to receive critisism.

Just my opinion. I get just a little bit annoyed by unsharp pictures, but I get very annoyed by people telling others they can't critisize.

Well, there are some special aircrafts. How often do we see Strategic and Air Italy pictures on Scramble? I have rarely seen them. AND there are people who can't afford a dslr, who have a family of which they have to take care of and therefore they can't save approx. €500 for just a camera! You are right about the settings, it is always the photographer who decides whether a picture will turn out nice or not. However, and that is what I would like to make clear: there are also spotters taking photos for their collection (fun). Not to win any photography test with outstanding pictures.

Of course critisism is always good, especially in a constructive way... Hmm, I get bored with extremely sharp KLM pictures (well, there are or course exceptions) rather than 'soft' or 'unsharp' pictures from airframes we don't see that often.

Just my two cents. I quite this useless discussions. But for people like Alexander, don't hesitate to post more reports and ask for tips if you want to :)

Guys guys... take a chill pill ;)....

I do agree with Marcel and Margreet on this one (that's quite unique right? hahaha LOL). I used to shoot with a Fuji S5600 and those pics were sharp even if it wasn't a DSLR. Although these aircraft aren't regularly seen here on Scramble, there is some room for improvement or even post processing, and perhaps NLSpot can even learn some valuable things for in the future.

Thanks, obviously you get my point, but, how do I get more subtile?
The pics are not sharp, non of them, you can't look at them for a long time, but how do you say this subtile??

Is that a rhetorical question? :)

I do get your point too, Magreet. But if you say it like this, it sounds very direct and even mean in my eyes. Some people don't really care about the quality indeed. What's up trying to say it differently? You have the right to post it like that and Alexander has the right not to answer on your second post, which is understandable I think.

Maybe a silly reaction, but everybody is free to post or not to post pictures. And by posting your pictures here you can expect some criticism (positive or negative). But it is very easy to say your pictures are not sharp etc. Better give some tips on how people can improve. By giving such "easy" comments people are not encouraged to post any more pics. Everybody is proud at his pictures, and would like to improve his skills and show beautiful pictures. I think it is no ones purpose to post bad pictures to ruin your day ;-) So maybe you can take that into account.

And about the "zuurgraad" acidity here, yes we have a critical public, but they are also willing to help you to improve your skills / pics.

Couldn't have said it better Thijs.

Perhaps with some general adjustments on your camera (in the Auto Focus area) will improve your pics. But it could help to get some edit software on your computer to adjust some things of the picture.

c'est le ton qui fait la musique.... I agree that these pics are not really sharp, but I also agree the tone can be quite harsh sometimes...
In my opinion it serves no purpose to start aggressively right away. Perhaps the poster ís not familiar with editing software, perhaps he doesn't care. But unless you know why the pics are the way they are I think the poster should get ''the benefit of the doubt''...
Ofcourse, freedom of speech for all, but what do you gain by creating a climate where people don't dare to post anymore. Over the last couple of years there have been numerous examples of guys posting ==censored== at first, but later they turned out to be fast learners and great photographers. Don't bully them away please...
