Picture: Final days of the Tornado F3
A Tornado F3 has been painted to celebrate the type in RAF service.
March 8: As the retirement date for the Royal Air Force’s Tornado F3 approaches, one aircraft (ZE791) has been painted in 25th anniversary markings at RAF Leuchars in Fife.
It is seen here during a mission today – the 111(F) Squadron disbandment parade will take place on March 22 with the type completely withdrawn from service by March 31.
The remaining aircraft will be taken to RAF Leeming for return to parts and two aircraft are scheduled to go to MoD Boscombe Down for Qinetiq testing purposes.
