The Neptune of the Military Aviation Museum at Soesterberg, The Netherlands, will be transported to Lelystad Airport (EHLE) during the night from Saturday, March 26 to Sunday, March 27. It has been on display outside for many years and is suffering from corrosion. It will be stripped, treated and resprayed by QAPS aircraft painters at Lelystad. It will be transported by road from Soesterberg to Nijkerk via the A28 motorway; at Nijkerk, it will be loaded onto a barge and transported over water to Harderwijk. From there, it will continue its journey by road from approximately 05.00 (summer time!) until arrival at EHLE at around 08.00 lt.
While taking with my dad (who used to fly neptune's) an interresting "idea" came up.
1. Since there will be a unique opportunity to see two Neptune's side by side (the 210 is already displayed at EHLE) does anybody have any contacts with MLM/QAPS/Aviodrome ??
2. is anybody taking and/or will there be shots taken of the transport operation ?
Thanks
