Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Forestfire CH-47D

Post by mirage 69 »

Just east of the city Enschede in the Netherlands was a forestfire.
Firefighters called in the airforce for assistance, the DHC send a CH-47D from Gilze-Rijen with a bambi bucket!

The fire is still not under controle, I think the CH-47D will leave soon. Maybe she will be back tomorrow....

They take the water from the Rutbekerplas.
It's the sandpit along the Haaksbergerstraat.

I also took some picture this evening :

I read on the Internet, that the KLU will be arround with a Helicopter untill arround 20:00 local. and the firedepartments will pull back arround 22:00 because of bad light and dangerous area's and hard winds. I believe they start again towmorrow morning around 5:00 local. Don't know what time the KLU will be pressent again, but the chances are big they will be as the fires are still not under control.
