LOG:
With our AGL basevisit to Benson cancelled, we still had two tickets and a day off.
Looking around on the map of the UK, we decided to drive to RAF Mildenhall for good old's sake as we had visited the Air Fete may times in our youth.
Furthermore, the base is quite open, taking pictures is not too hard and the Lakenheath Eagles were based here too for the moment.
On the way to the airport we looked at the date again, fourth of July, independence day, day off for all americans.
Looking at the logs of previous years and at NOTAMS it seems to us that the airport was still open so some limited flying should happen.
Also, most aircraft should be on the ground which gives us possibilities for good logging.
We arrived sunday evening quite late and stayed at the Travelodge.
After our small Travelodge breakfast we took our Fiat 500 for a spin around the base to log all aircraft.
After this tour we went to the camping site The Nook to have a nice, quiet day at the fence.
In the afternoon they changed to runway 29 so we moved and walked to The Mound.
