Depending on how much south you mean with south of Sweden, there isn't much left. Ronneby, Satenas and Linkoping-Malmen is about it. All three have very good options to spot though.
Ronneby from the terminal and from the north landing.
Satenas on the east side.
Linkoping-Malmen from a small road on the eastside, along the east-west runway.
Other than that, it is just wrecks and relics I am afraid.

Hej Otto!

You are indeed left with the bases Såtenäs, Linköping and Ronneby.
As Erwin told you, those are the spots you can stand at those bases. However, photographing of military infrastructure is not legal in Sweden and you should be carefull. It is allowed to take photos of aircrafts but not towards the base.
Nevertheless, Ronneby and Såtenäs seem to be a bit more relaxed with regard to that and it should be fine to do some spotting there. Linköping-Malmen is a different story... there is also the SAAB factory at the civil airfield of Linköping, but that is even more "dangerous". You may want to have a quick look there though. ;) At Linköping-Malmen you can also stand at the parking lot of the Airforce Museum on the north side where you have a view on the approach, if winds allow.
Anyways, at any base when you are standing along the fence, most likely you will meet some security. Depending on their mood they will allow you or send you away.

Flying activities are as nearly everywhere in Europe: normal flights during weekdays, only Fridays it is less activity and they may stop earlier. Best chances are tuesdays, wednesdays and thursdays.
Usually, they will fly 4 times a day, starting at 800/830 to the last mission around 1500/1600.

Hope you enjoy Sweden and any other questions are welcome!

Hi Corné,

I can confrim the status at Linköping (SAAB)... been there in June and took pictures of the stored TP85, Beech 18 and something I really do not know what it was... and got checked by security, they told me to delete the pictures. and same story as you told, pictures with infrastructure (how little at may be) is not allowed.

Do you have any info about the third aircraft which I have seen by the way? it was parked next to the TP85.

Kind regards, Hilco

Hi,

If you're travelling via Göteborg, don't forget to visit the 'Aeroseum' at the city airport (former Säve airbase). There is a nice collection of military jets, choppers and civil old prop stuff in an underground bunker complex. Was there yesterday shortly before closing time. It's not easy to find as there are no signs along the raod. You should go to the south entrance, the former base.

@Hilco, I dont know which airframe you mean actually. I would ask you for a photo, but I guess you dont have them anymore... haha. Well, thats the way it is... But where they parked now, the Tp85, Beech and other one? They have been towed around a lot the last years...
Last, year I got in trouble at SAAB even with pictures where there was no infrastructure visible at all.... just an aircraft and some clouds.... ....

@Otto
As you are staying in the south of Sweden you may want to consider visiting Ljungbyhed, old Swedish airforce base and these days there s a kind of veteran flying club. And this summer every second Saturday of the month they have a "Fly 'n Ride", showing some cars and aircrafts of which a few will fly. Some visitors may come too. So if you are still around on Saturday September the 10th, I would suggest you to pay a visit there! check their website: http://www.lasf5.nu/ its only in Swedish but you may have some use of it.

greets,
Corné
