Nice report, strange to see that they sold such "new" F16AM (FA100, 108, 111, 115, 120, 125)

Indeed. You could also ask why a small (population just over a third compared to Netherlands), poor (GDP about 1/30th of Netherlands) country like Jordan needs so much modern and expensive hardware.

If we can not afford to keep our fleet of jets, how can they afford to buy it? Especially if they are not really threatened by their neighbours.

:!lol!: Never been to the region I reckon...

And about selling the 'newer' planes, is that really hard to understand? As buyer you want the best product, as seller you want the best price. I don't think the oldest frames really are the best option in that case.

Been there.
Jordan has a peace agreement with Isreal (not that they would stand a chance against them anyway). There are no hostilities with either Egypt or Saudi Arabia. Iraq is also not really a threat. So that would leave Syria only. A bit unpredicatble but not likely to invade Jordan.
The main security threat are small groups of fighters against which a jet is of very little use.

In a region that is prone to conflicts and that is ruled by dictators you believe Jordan is safe and does not need a strong Air Force? I am still laughing....
Besides, you can hardly call 25 year old, second hand F-16s "modern and expensive hardware".
