Jaipur, Oct 7: Indian Air Force (IAF) decided to stop using the combat aircraft - MiG-21 by 2017. The shocking decision has been taken after many of the jet fighters crashed recently.

This was the sixth air crash involving IAF's fighter aircraft in 2011 and the fifth one involving MiG-21 series of the warplanes.

According to sources, from 2012, IAF will not allow any inexperienced pilots to fly MiG-21. Only experienced fighter pilots will fly the plane.

Sources also claimed that a court investigation has been ordered after the crash of Friday.

Agency report suggested that over half of the total 976 MiG-21s, which were inducted in the service since 1960s, have been lost in air crashes.
