Turkish Dakota at Tekirova

Post by 11E »

Seen last week in the town Tekirova (TUR) was a Dakota with serial ''095'' near a hotel. What is the complete serial and type of this Dak?

I don't think that the above is the correct identity for this 6095. It is the identity of the first aircraft which should have become 6095 (which was probably never delivered).
It was replaced by c/n 20115, ex TC-TUG, which was acquired from THY in 1966.

The serial might be "096" :?: :?: :?:
see here (very small picture): http://www.kemergozcu.com/?page=haberde ... egoriid=14

It seems that the C-47 was supposed to be submerged as an artificial reef for divers, but fortunately the diving-club went bankrupt and now the Dak is stored on the beach.

Edit: no, it is indeed "095" (not 096!)
