I'm missing "if it's airworthy"... :?

Nonetheless, I'm also satisfied if someone that I trust provides me with a serial.

Or how to deal if it is not airworthy yet?

So suppose you see a really special a/c that has never been flown and only has served as a instructional airframe.
And how about a wreck that is almost not recodnisable.
I think these are still a/c and worth writing down.

I have got the impression that all the above responders are not really getting Crizz' point here. Crizz is wondering HOW aircraft are being considered as 'read' not WHICH aircraft...

well, in that case......................

Another issue to think about:
"do you count an aircraft of which you only see the reflection in a mirror/window etc?"
One should consider that, when looking through your binoculars, you only see a reflection as well (through a prism)

Adding or not getting the point that's the question? ;-)

"The Dilemmas of Aircraft Spotting, A survey of contemporary topics" door Erwin van Dijkman (2000).

Inclusief zelftest in de appendix! :)
