For sale: wreck of Fouga MT-36

Post by frank kramer »

Thanks to W&R specialists Pieter P. and Peter v.K. the following was brought to my attention: the Belgian Air Force is finally disposing of the wreck of crashed Fouga CM170 MT-36. The aircraft, still in the silver and blue special colour scheme, suffered a take off-accident on Feb 25, 2000 in which the pilot was tragically killed. Ever since, the wreck had been stored open-air in a closed-off compound of the Aviation Safety Directorate at Beauvechain Airbase. The remains are now for sale as scrap. The forward fuselage and the two wings are more or less in one piece; the rest is a bunch of metal and plexiglass bits and pieces. For those interested, offers can be sent in before March 9, 2012. For more info see the pdf file; some pictures of the sad remains are on the final page.
