Airport emergency services in St Petersburg are bracing for a Russian jet which lost a wheel on take-off from Berlin, reports say.
The An-148 passenger jet from Russia's Rossiya airline, which is believed to be carrying 44 people, has been circling to use up fuel.
Airline sources told Russian news agencies that they hoped the plane could still make a safe landing.
The crew reported that the situation on board was "calm", Interfax says.
