Was walking in the woods near where I live and decided to pay the "abandoned" Oldebroek airfield a visit (for info click here).
Didn't expect to see much, just a clearing in the forest perhaps, but to my surprise the area was clearly marked with "Verboden Toegang" (No Entry) signs. I figured I'd respect those, but even from a distance you can get a good view of the place. Not only is there a large clearing, there's also a hangar and a windsock. The hangar looks to be either new or recently renovated and the windsock looks fairly new as well. The main entrance road to the field looks well used, too.
The runways themselves are overgrown now, but the clearing in the middle is kept clear and is large enough for several helicopters.
Is this supposedly abandoned airfield still in active use then?
