Narrative:
A Syrian fighter jet crashed in eastern Syria on Monday 13 August 2012, state television said.

The official news channel Syria TV said the plane crashed due to technical problems during a “regular training mission”.

The state news agency SANA said the pilot had ejected from the plane and that a search party was underway.

Meanwhile rebels claim to have shot down a Syrian fighter jet in the same area.

Yep, it was a regular training mission... Instead of using the Vliehors for bombing practice, the Syrians use Aleppo. Far more realistic than bombing derelict vehicles on a beach! Only thing they didn't anticipate is that a mid-air collision with AAA/SAM might occur...
