On 1st August, I flew into the new low-cost airport for Warsaw - Modlin. On the shuttle bus to the railway station I noted 3 AN-2 fuselages in a yard just west of the railroad crossing a few hundred metres from the railway station in Modlin town.
I only had a short while before my train so I grabbed my compact camera and ran back to investigate. All three were on their undercarriage, 2 were completely wrapped in tarpaulins but the third was unwrapped. A non-English speaking worker opened it up and invited me onboard. Unfortunately his boss was not so keen on my presence a few minutes later!
My time was limited but I found no identity on the cockpit; had no idea where to look for the c/n so just took a few quick photos and headed off.
I could only see the full colour scheme on the unwrapped one but it looked like they were all in the same colour scheme with a black underside, a thin cheat line and a white upper fuselage.
On a trailer in the same yard was a dismantled Cessna N87FP which had gone by the time of my return a few days later.
EMOOS has nothing listed, Eurodemobbed has nothing and Google Earth image from 5/8/2011 shows the yard as empty, so they must be recent arrivals.
Anybody able to assist with IDs?
