According to http://www.taringa.net/posts/noticias/1 ... Suiza.html
the above is certainly not a "done deal".
It hasn't been "categorically ruled out" though...

Other contenders:
Regarding the possibility of accessing the Swiss F-5, which will most likely soon relieved by the SAAB Gripen NG, it is true that are being discussed for many years.

Equipped with modest A-37B and A-58 as attack vectors, the FAU is looking combat options, of which we can mention the Yak 130 (soon launching a series cheaper, according to the manufacturer, to just over 15 million dollars per unit), modernized and westernized versions of classic Czech L-39 and L-15 Chinese, in a scenario in which both Russian and Chinese, the currency used for purchases of meat or soy Uruguay.

The M-346, also considered above, exceeds Uruguayan economic opportunities, while the Argentine Pampa II project remains a doubtful and slowed to an extreme.

Some rumours abound about Denmark having 14 F-16s for sale, but I haven't found anything even slightly looking "official" (yet)... :?

The idea is to buy a batch of between four and six single-seat F-5Es; the Uruguayan Air Force would like to procure more of the aircraft but cannot because of funding limitations.

Actually, the Uruguayans are looking for six F-5E fighters and two duals F-5F! Although nothing confirmed yet, the negotiations are also for 3 spare airframes. However, in July several FAU officers have been in Switzerland too for inspecting several airframes, but nothing reported officially from that visit.
