Parking was again terrible for cars ... no good road signs, ended up at P4 .. and leaving was also nightmare (though this was expected)

PS .. I also missed a nice magazine, especially about the 100 Year RNLAF. Only got a program for the two days.

Busses were perfect! When I left I immediately got a bus to Oss. They did a perfect job!

Maybe you should consider this 'your' fault then. In my experience it was perfect again. Couldn't be better. Got there without much delay (maybe 10 minutes extra traffic), parked less than 200m from the gate at P5/6 and got out without any delay whatsoever. I honestly don't think it could have been better.

They put up some sort of paint/grease around the gun.
The area around the gun pollutes very quickly, when this gun is/has been used.
It helps the cleaning go quicker and with less effort.

It took me 1 1/2 hour to get from P1 to the A50.

This morning it took me less to get from home to P1.

would like to point out some notes and questions from us foreign spotters that came to this airshow on the purpose to photograph RARE aircraft participants and also dutch aircraft collection...

Spotters day on thursday...
crowd line was put only near the elevated platform and that area... why not in front of the vacating taxiway to the left before they entered the apron!!?? half the aircraft went there especially the Corsairs! then infront of us they park light aircraft and others which are not interesting! and by d way they blocked access to runway photographs
Runway for photography was toooo much far for normal lenses up to 400mm, in my opinion photographers were to be put closer to runway (like those United Tv trailers were put  )

Friday airshow day...
who the hell decided to put some of the most interesting aircraft on the other side of the airfield!!?? Su22s, Turkish F16, Viggen  , Mil24,and etc... these should be put infront of crowd line and watch them taxi infront of you! and replace them with all those light aircraft infront of the crowds.
We came for an airforce day and most of the air power of the RNAF was not on show... Chinook no good static, Apache no good static, Aluette!! no static, Kdc10 no static or at least a touch n go, special F16s (like one marked AZ) no static. Please dont tell me apache and chinook there were static because they were in the middle of the crowd and cannot be photographed.

Last but not least... they should have made at least anther spotters day on sunday for the departure as alot of aircraft or practically all landed before thursday or in grey colours due to clouds and lots of rain...

Until now this is it for the moment, dont get me wrong that this airshow was not good because by far this is one of the best this year and I appreciate all the preparations for it but obviously us photographers see these details with more close lenses :) and especially if the airforce had spotters clubs involved or help, these details should have been noted I think.

Thank to everyone involved in this airshow and we hope we get some sunshine today

P.s any information please if there are places round the base for departure photography on sunday? much appreciated :) :respect:

The best option for you to be sure you don't get this problem the next time is very simple : stay at home or at least stay away from the spottersday, so you're place could be given to someone else. There were 400 people and there were 1000 people interested.

When you're visiting friend or relatives, do you also start complaining afterwards about the bad coffee, the disgusting cake, the smelly dog, that ridiculous sofa you were sitting on, the boring conversation or how unfriendly they are?

Don't go next time.

Hehe, you've got to love the hospitality of the Dutch :worship:

Anyway, @navygm, thank you for visiting out friendly little country. Unfortunately, we spotters, do have to understand that the airshow is not primarily focussed at spotters, but at recruitement and showing the main public where their money is going. Therefore, we don't get everything we want. In my opinion many hints and tips from the spotters community are already taken into account (for example the spottersday itself), but in the end it will never be perfect for us. To me as a numbercruncher it was already much, much better than previous years. You are disappointed some planes were on the far side, I was extremely happy that everything at least was visible. In previous years I missed a number of planes simply because they were parked hidden from sight.

So, please understand it will not be perfect for us, but also try to enjoy the things that you do get. Like 2 Corsairs, An-2 and 3 Fitters :respect:

To be honest, I think NavyGM has some good points. Some of the most interesting aircraft were on the wrong side of the base, like the Viggen, spare Su-22 and the Czech C295. Imagine the Viggen being serviced and taxiing from the static side! That would have been a sight. But I'm sure the foreign crews wanted this the way it was.

What bothered me a little was that no NH90 was displayed or even on the static side (one left in the morning from the other side). Thus making this '100 years of military aviation' a KLu-party. But I enjoyed the show on Friday - the Estonian An-2 alone making it all worthwhile. :worship:

Not completely true.... around mid day a Cougar left and the NH.90 (N227) came in, landing right in front of the crowd and remained there for some time at least. I left some 15 minutes later, so cannot tell how long, but from about 12.00/12.15 it was parked right next to the Mi-24V.
