I was in my hotel during the afternoon, and I thought it might be an option to go and have a look around in Swindon, before having the weekend spent at what looked like a great show, even for RIAT standards. Although I saw some clouds before setting off, I thought it wouldn't be necessary to take my raingear with me. While having walked for some time, some raindrops started to fall around 16.00, which became more and more intense, having me returning at the hotel completely soaken wet.
While preparing to go to bed I found out that I forgot my toothpaste back home. Fortunately there was a sign in the bathroom that said in these circumstances you could get some from reception, so off to reception I went. While leaving the elevator I saw a big sheet of paper, saying that RIAT had announced that at least Saturday was not taking place.
