Hercules Aircraft Replacement Project

OSRL also embarked on a new aviation programme with
UK-based T2 Aviation Ltd to design and develop the
world’s first B-727 Aerial Dispersant Spray Aircraft using
internal modular tanks (similar to the NIMBUS system)
and an external spray configuration.

The first aircraft and
spray system is due for delivery around July 2013 and the
second in Jan 2014.

The B-727 platform will offer better
range, speed and economy than the Hercules aircraft
which has served us very well over recent years.
