I spent my summer holiday in the neighbourhood of Valence. So it’s obvious that some (short) stops were made during my stay! I visited this airfield twice, and both times I was lucky to see some hoppers taking off, and I was even more lucky that these choppers taxied/hovered in front of me!
What was new to me (or I just didn't notice it last year) was the AEROTEC company, which is situated just outside the perimeter of the airfield. Gazelle maintainance is carried out here, not only for the ALAT as I found out…. In case the hangar door is open several choppers might be seen. When I was there, a Gazelle was picked up by a truck and left by road.
