Since the based F-16s at Leeuwarden left the airbase on July 5th; Leeuwarden is still a very active airbase. there are still plenty of F-16 flights taking place every day as the WIC (Weapon Instructor Course) is ongoing with belgian and Dutch participants.

The based F-16s from Leeuwarden left the airbase for their new home base Volkel in the far south of the country. The Wic will take place until October. Next to the F-16s also Norweigian F-35s will join the training. Also there is an end exercise planned in week 39 and 40 as a final stage of the WIC. During these weeks more foreign aircraft will practice from Leeuwarden Air Base.
