During talks with local spotters on my last visits they all mentioned the spots as options to take pictures.
I haven’t walked to 14,15 myself, but the path around the fence is freely accessible. (And so are all the paths in the area)
Police and local security control a lot from within the fence, but they never were a problem.

But now it even seems they control outside of the fence. Wahner heide were the spot is located is a military zone but like spotters and ''day tourist'' were always allowed., but according to the website they do not allow it anymore unless you stay on the ''official paths'' which are too far for decent pictures.

Great Dane Airlines operated a charter to Cologne-Bonn and a nice EMB195 in a Bamboo Airways cs showed up. The lease in Vietnam has ended but they didn’t bother yet to repaint it. Nice was also the newest Star Air 767 in a different cs.

2 HiFly planes were in the forecast and a Compass Air Cargo 738F was on the ground so paid a short visit to catch those. The HiFly planes are chartered by the Canadian government and would fly Afghan refugees the next day that came on RCAF CC-177s (C-17s). The Hungarian Saab was also an unusual visitor among the large array of cargo planes.

A rare DHC8-100 passed by Cologne-Bonn on delivery from Wyoming, USA to Kenya. It has a white/blue scheme that is a partial leftover from previous operator Canadian North. Already on the road since 30 September when it departed Sheridan,WY, the homebase of Bighorn Airways: flying SHR-MSN-MHT-BGR-UAK-RKV-WIC-CGN-SPU-CHQ-SSH-JED-DIR(?)-MBA-NBO. Nice to also get the DHL & Ryanair with special titles.

It was very crowded at the CGN viewing terrace on this unusually sunny Sunday. Close to 100 spotters came out to catch the ATC 744F. The Air Nostrum CRJ-1000 was a nice pax charter as well.

An Uzbek 767 was a good reason to wake up early today. The USAF C-17 was a diversion from Ramstein due to fog. The BAe146 is normally hidden far away but will be used today for some emergency drills and was now parked near the terminal.

Yes it should come daily until Friday, no flights in the weekend and likely another one next week Mo-Fri. Arrival typically around 5.30AM and scheduled dep 2 hours later but last 2 days it was delayed and left just after 9AM. Hoping the same for tomorrow as I may try to get it then
