JET AIRWAYS,VT-JEW

Post by YS11 »

Jet Airways' Boeing 777-300ER, which has been on a chain at Schiphol-Oost since the spring of 2019, has a new owner. The Indian airline has sold the plane for nine million dollars to the Miami-based company IAGCAS 777.‎

‎The aircraft was detained on April 9, 2019 due to serious financial problems at Jet Airways. The Indian airline, which had its main European hub at Schiphol, could no longer meet its payment obligations.‎

‎By order of two creditors, Jet Airways was declared bankrupt by the District Court of Noord-Holland on 21 May 2019. The company, which is in the process of restarting its activities, reports that the proceeds of the sale will be used to complete the insolvency process in the Netherlands.‎

‎The fourteen-year-old Boeing 777-300ER with the registration VT-JEW has been on the chain at Schiphol-Oost for almost two and a half years. Previously, it seemed that KLM wanted to take over the aircraft, but that sale fell off last year. Last year, jet airways' household effects in the Netherlands, consisting of aircraft trolleys and table linen, went under the hammer.‎

‎IAGCAS 777 is part of International Aerospace Group, a company that is engaged in maintenance and trade of aircraft engines. The company's exact plans with the purchased Boeing 777 are not known; possibly the engines are traded and the dismantling of the rest of the aircraft follows. ‎
