PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)--Le groupe européen d'aéronautique et de défense Airbus a annoncé lundi avoir obtenu un contrat avec l'armée américaine portant sur la maintenance d'une flotte d'hélicoptères pour un montant pouvant dépasser 1,5 milliard de dollars.
Ce contrat prévoit la fourniture de pièces détachées, de matériel et de support d'ingénierie pour une flotte de 482 hélicoptères UH-72A et UH-72B Lakota, a expliqué l'avionneur.
Ce contrat d'une durée initiale de six mois pourra être prolongé pour quatre années et demie, a également indiqué Airbus.

US ARMY AWARDS AIRBUS CONTRACT
FOR HELICOPTER MODERNISATION
The US Army awarded Airbus a $27.8 million contract
to upgrade the Army National Guard Security and Support
Battalion mission equipment package (MEP). Upgrades
to the MEP expand the UH-72A Lakota’s capabilities
to conduct day and night operations by providing an
advanced moving map, enhanced digital interfaces, new
monitors, an airborne mission management system and
other system improvements. MEP-equipped UH-72As are
specifically designed to execute National Guard operations
across a range of missions including domestic operations,
counter-drug and border security
